The Coffin Walk to Rydal Mount

Thursday, March 16th, 2017: It was a semi-rainy day, and part of the group decided to use our afternoon free time to take a walk  to Rydal Mount, Wordsworth’s home in later life, and see the Waterfalls. The hike lasted somewhere between 2.5-3 hours, and probably would have been faster if we kept up the initial pace that Amelia had set for us (her walking was like my light running!) We took the coffin trail, used by mourners to transport coffins between Ambleside and Grasmere and by William and Dorothy to retrieve their mail alike. We retraced their steps, and ended our beautiful walk around the Rydal Hall grounds.
